Dyslexia

Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability. Most dyslexics encounter difficulties with reading, spelling and writing. Dyslexia can affect students of all IQ levels. Dyslexia does not reflect lower intelligence levels.

There is no single cause of dyslexia. Scientific research proves that people with dyslexia process images and words differently than others. This confuses their ability to recognize the proper sounds within words and the proper order of these sounds.

Dr. Joe’s programs harness the power of multi-sensory teaching strategies.

The International Dyslexia Association recommends this multi-sensory teaching method.

Multi-sensory teaching engages the student’s ability to see, hear and touch the letters, words and sounds as they learn. This method is proven to stimulate the zones within the brain to improve the processing of sounds and words.

Dr. Joe collaborated with reading specialists and medical doctors to develop Red Apple’s programs. He uncovered teaching techniques which are proven to build the reading skills of dyslexics. But when he searched the area no one else was using these; no schools nor the franchised learning centers.

Most importantly, Red Apple’s programs are fun for students.

Early intervention is critical to helping a student read at the expected level of his peers.

74% of students who are slow readers in third grade are still slow readers in ninth grade. This shows the critical importance of early detection to help these children.
